Windows unable to find the file svchost.exe in ‘c:\windows\svchost.exe’

Filed under: XP Tweakers — Kunal Jain @ 05:41

As svchost.exe actually resides in ‘c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe’ so if you are getting an error on starting the computer that “Windows unable to find the file svchost.exe in ‘c:\windows\svchost.exe'” then copy the svchost.exe file from ‘c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe’ and copy it to ‘c:\windows\svchost.exe’

Your error will be gone.

  1. Wow! It really surprised me if the solution to that annoying message is just as simple as copy and pasting the svchost file from one folder to another. Thanks so much for the info!!!
