Useful Commands

To display CPU Information

    $cat /proc/cpuinfo

Display Free and used Memory Information

    $free -m

Display partition information

    #fdisk -l

Display file system disk space usage

    #df -H

OR

    #df -h

Estimate file space usage

    #du

List PCI devices

    #lspci

List USB devices

    #lsusb

Display list of all open ports

    #netstat -tulpn

How to find if processor is 64 bit/32 bit in Linux

    $getconf LONG_BIT
output:
32

To print the machine hardware

    $uname -m
output:
i686

Restarting sshd

    #/sbin/service sshd start
