Proxy Setting in Linux Machine

For the Debian-etch and Ubuntu edit the file /etc/bash.bashrc and type the following lines

export http_proxy=http://proxyServerAddress:portNumber/
export ftp_proxy=http://proxyServerAddress:portNumber/

For CentOS edit the file /ect/bashrc and type the following lines

export http_proxy=http://proxyServerAddress:portNumber/
export ftp_proxy=http://proxyServerAddress:portNumber/
